CEDIA turns focus to remote training & education

In response to the remote working situation we are finding ourselves in due to the coronavirus outbreak, CEDIA is temporarily offering free educational resources to its members.

Recognising that work is drying up for many integrators and several AV professionals are having to self-isolate, the organisation is now offering its members free professional development that includes a large variety of eCourses, webinars and whitepaper resources.

"We're facing unprecedented challenges right now at work and at home, and CEDIA is here to provide valuable resources to keep our members nimble, educated, and ready for what's next," said Tabatha O'Connor, CEDIA's global president and CEO.

"Opening our courses and whitepapers up for all members, and providing additional ways to grow professionally is the right thing to do. CEDIA is here to help members and the industry as a whole navigate the uncertainty."

Members can log on to CEDIA.net to access the professional development resources. A schedule of all upcoming live webinars will be available soon.

To also help keep its members informed during the uncertainty, it has collated an online Resource Centre surrounding Covid-19, which gives information including legal, regulatory, and commercial information from CEDIA’s legal firm, as well as industry and governmental resources.

Focusing on content, CEDIA will also be releasing two podcasts a week on a Tuesday and a Friday. This week, Tuesday’s podcast looked at how to cope with Covid-19 in day-to-day operations, supply chain issues, and remote working.

The organisation is also encouraging members to make use of the CEDIA Community as a resource to connect with peers and discuss issues that are having an impact on business.

CEDIA has also announced it is extending the submission deadline for the CEDIA Awards to 30 April for all regions.
