Crestron has announced that voice-controlled home automation specialist Josh.ai has become an official Crestron integration partner.
Crestron states that the 2017-launched Josh Micro device and accompanying app now integrates with Crestron smart home systems for customisable voice control of lights, shades, thermostats, AV, and scenes.
Josh Micro device and app are can be set up and deployed via the Crestron Pyng operating system, enabling Crestron installers to add voice control to their smart home designs.
Following authorising the Hub and Josh.ai, Crestron homeowners are able to control everything using natural language voice commands – for instance, “Okay, Josh, set the thermostat to 71 degrees.” Josh.ai also supports integration with Crestron systems through SIMPL Windows software.
“With support for Josh.ai, our residential dealers can now take their system designs to yet another level,” commented Michael Short, global residential marketing manager at Crestron.
At CEDIA 2018, Josh.ai showcased its extensive app updates – including increased personalisation options for homeowners, powered by its latest developments in machine learning. The company’s product range is currently only available in the US, but is expected to be coming to the UK in the near future.
