Smart home management specialist Nice has announced it OS 8.9 over-the-air (OTA) update, now available through Management Cloud.
Nice OS 8.9 offers integration with third-party devices, allowing homeowners to customise their smart home with themes, settings and geofencing features.
Users can now manage their home media, climate, lighting and security with an intuitive system that supports whole-home automation with the HR40 remote control. For a fully personalised touch, new location capabilities automatically sync the nearest touch panel with the user’s location.
Emanuel Bertolini, CEO of Nice North America, said: "Nice OS 8.9 is all about creating a deeply personal experience for each user.
"Our platform is designed to simplify smart home management while delivering the elegance and style that homeowners expect."
OS 8.9 integrates with Apple TV, Roku, Tesla Powerwall, Philips Hue and more. New features like Action Events simplifies tasks such as closing a garage door left open and placing the home in Away mode when no one is home, without needing to navigate through an app.
For professional integrators, OS 8.9 offers streamlined installation with the Mobile Device Manager, making on-boarding faster and more efficient.
Integrators can now enjoy improved system security through Bluetooth low energy (BLE) authentication and advanced facial recognition.
Paul Williams, global managing director for Nice Home Management business unit, said: “With OS 8.9, we’re giving both homeowners and integrators the tools they need to create a truly connected home.
"This release offers more power, more flexibility and an easier interface, setting the foundation for the future of home automation."
