Stand 5-R78, ISE 2014 Designed for Mounting on a Countertop or Under a Cabinet, Versatile Solution Delivers Reliable Control for Commercial and Residential Applications Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI) announced the exciting new CX7, a wired user interface for reliable “always on” control over A/V, environmental, and security systems in any setting, from the kitchen to the boardroom. Designed for hard-wired installations on a countertop or under a cabinet, the sleek CX7 is loaded with high-end features for complete, customized control, including an adjustable tilt 7-inch multi-touch capacitive touchscreen LCD, analog audio and video inputs, stereo speakers, wired and wireless Ethernet, proximity and ambient light sensors, and more. Primarily designed to be used with RTI control systems for powerful two-way control of electronics, it is the flexible installation options the CX7 has to offer that really sets it apart. For example, analog audio and video inputs (composite, S-video, and component) allow users to view and listen to sources such as satellite TV on its dazzling 7-inch, 800x480 WVGA LCD and integrated stereo speakers. The unit also features wired 10/100 Base-T and wireless Ethernet, which provide two-way control and feedback, access to Web pages, video from network security cameras, and convenient programming. In addition, a built-in camera and microphone will offer intercom capabilities in the future. For the ultimate in convenience, proximity and light sensors automatically bring the unit to life when it’s approached by an end user. For ease of installation, the CX7’s display can be lifted straight up, laid nearly flat, tilted at any level in-between, or the unit can even be inverted and mounted under a cabinet. The CX7 features multiple power source options, such as the included power supply and Power over Ethernet (PoE). Built-in high-output IR provides direct control of devices without the need for a separate control processor. “With its numerous options for mounting, power, communications, and AV inputs, the CX7 is ideal for highly reliable always on’ control in commercial environments such as boardrooms and lecture halls,” said Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI. “At the same time, the controller is right at home under a kitchen cabinet and in home theaters.” The CX7 will be available in Q1 2014.
