At its annual First Look CES event today, Samsung Electronics has announced its revolutionary new Micro LED technology including a new 75†display and a 219†The Wall amongst a variety of other shapes, sizes and configurations.
These new TV displays are made up of individual modules of self-emissive Micro LEDs which feature millions of inorganic red, green and blue microscopic LED chips that emit their own light to produce strong, sharp colours on the screen.
Micro LED technology was first introduced last year at CES by Samsung Electronics when it unveiled The Wall, a 146” Micro LED display. Based on this design, Samsung has now created a 4K Micro LED display in a more home-friendly 75” form. This is due to the technological advancements in the ultra-fine pitch semiconductor packaging process that narrows the gap between the microscopic LED chips.
Due to the technology being so flexible, users can customise the display however they want meaning they can create a display of any size to fit any space. The Micro LED technology will also optimise the content to fit the shape and size of the screen, scaling to increase the resolution as well as keeping the pixel density constant.
