Control4 has unveiled Maria Thomas as the latest addition to its board of directors.
Thomas brings the role a wealth of strategic marketing and business expertise following dedicating the last 20 years to building high growth, consumer-focused digital businesses as an internet executive and entrepreneur.
Most recently, Thomas was CMO at SmartThings, where she helped lead the smart home technology company to a successful acquisition by Samsung in 2014.
Previously, Thomas served as CEO of Etsy, where she led the company through an significant phase of growth and internationalisation. Thomas also led NPR’s transition into a digital and multimedia enterprise and was an early product leader at Amazon.com.
The home automation specialist has also announced that Thomas will serve on the company’s Compensation Committee.

In addition to Control4, Thomas also currently serves on the boards of McClatchy and privately-held Spoonflower. Thomas is also an active angel investor and advisor in several early-stage startups.
