Josh.ai and Barco give a voice to home cinema
Josh.ai has announced it has partnered with Barco Residential to enable homeowners to use Barco’s high-end residential projectors in tandem with Josh.ai’s intuitive voice and app interfaces.
Once connected to the network, Josh.ai auto-populates the Medea, Balder, Loki and new Bragi Cinemascope projector models. There is no limit to the number of projectors in one home, giving custom installers more possibilities with home integrations.
To give a seamless setup process, the configuration of HDMI inputs is visibly diagrammed in the Josh.ai portal. Once the system is completed, homeowners can ask their Josh Micro to play the content they want in the room they want from anywhere in the house.
Natural language-oriented commands can be used to switch video sources. For example, users can say “turn on the projector” and “watch surfing videos on YouTube”. More complex commands such as, “watch Breaking Bad season 3 episode 4, draw the blinds and dim the lights to 10 per cent”, can also be actioned for all the devices assigned to the room the homeowner is in.
Alex Capecelatro, Josh.ai said: “The Josh team has been hard at work expanding support for distributed video. And we are excited to announce our integration with Barco Residential, a fellow innovator in our industry. As a premier manufacturer for many of our dealers, it’s a natural fit to offer voice control in the world’s most advanced theatres.”
Tim Sinnaeve, Barco Residential added: “At Barco Residential we are very focused on the complete experience. That’s why we love working with a cutting-edge company like Josh.ai that brings sophisticated AI to luxury homes and now works seamlessly with our high end projectors.”
