QMotion Advanced Shading Systems has been granted U.S. patent number 8,947,027 for a high efficiency roller shade and method for setting artificial stops to inventor Willis Jay Mullet, QMotion chief executive officer. The patent was awarded for a motorized roller shade design that allows the roller shade to be manually moved as well as moved by remote control.
In simple terms, QMotion’s unique motorized roller shades allow a user to position their shades either by using a remote or by manually moving the shade to a desired position. This patent also protects QMotion’s unique tug feature that allows a user to tug the shade to initiate a motorized upward movement. It allows for the shade to go to intermediary positions or full open positions by a simple tug on the shade, not requiring the use of the remote.
QMotion has been granted U.S. patent number 8,968,900 for a flexible sleeve battery holder apparatus and method to inventors Willis Jay Mullet, QMotion chief executive officer; and Harry Edward Asbury, product design engineer. The patent was awarded for QMotion’s unique battery sleeve within its roll tube. QMotion’s unique battery sleeve holds the batteries in constant contact with one another and ensures the shade receives constant power from the battery source while still allowing for easy removal and replacement of the batteries. Customers do not need to take down the shade to change the batteries.
QMotion has also been granted U.S. patent number 8,960,260 for a motorized roller shade or blind having an antenna and antenna cable connection to inventor Craig Peter Anderson, Rf/Compliance Engineer. The patent was awarded for QMotion’s unique antenna design, which is formed of a printed circuit board that is positioned in the end of the roller shade tube. The design allows the roller shade to be free of external wires or antennas providing a sleek and aesthetically pleasing appearance. This system also improves the ease of installation.
