Monitor Audio has announced that it will unveil an invisible speaker at ISE next month.
Designed for concealed in-wall and in-ceiling applications, Monitor Audio’s recently introduced IV140 speaker measures 95mm deep (83.5mm fitting depth) for use within conventional 4-in stud bays within walls. Once skimmed with plaster, the speaker can be finished with paint, light wallpaper or fabric to create an invisible effect.
The IV140 features a large low-frequency exciter for high power bass along with two high frequency exciters which are bonded to a flat, soft polymer membrane surface to produce sound vibration. The speaker incorporates a hybrid back box design to isolate sound (regardless of placement) and limits low frequency below 75Hz, and can be either fully sealed or open-back.
The manufacturer has also launched its ASB-10 soundbar system (available with an optional WS-10 subwoofer for added bass). The speaker is equipped with a precision-tuned 2.0 audio design comprising of proprietary driver/amp pairings, integrated Dolby Digital processing and Bluetooth aptX wireless streaming.
Its slim moulded polymer cabinet with a black grille cloth and brushed aluminium end trims houses four Monitor Audio 3-in C-CAM bass drivers (assisted by a brace of passive bass radiators), and twin 25mm Gold Dome C-CAM tweeters. The ASB-10’s proprietary drive-unit configuration is additionally powered by four integral DSP-trimmed amplifiers.
Monitor Audio will exhibit in Hall 5 at stand R75 during the show. ISE 2017 runs from 7 to 10 February, 2017 at the RAI in Amsterdam.
