A new laser projector for home entertainment applications has been announced by Optoma.
HZ40 is ideal for watching TV, movies, sports and playing games in the home on a big screen.
The projector has 30,000 maintenance-free light source laser technology and bright 4,000 lumens to allow the full HD 1080p projector to be used at any time during the day or night. It also has a latency of 8.3ms at 1080p 120Hz.
The 1.3x zoom along with vertical lens shift makes it easier to position in a space and gives a wider choice of screen sizes.
It features dual HDMI inputs for easy connection to a games console, set-top box, laptop, PC, Blu-ray player or media streamer with a single cable.
The HZ40 can also be transformed into a smart projector by connecting an HDMI dongle like the Google Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV or Roku stick.
To complete the home entertainment experience, the projector comes with a powerful 10W built-in speaker for an easy set up without the need for costly external speakers.
Optoma’s product manager, Kishan Mistry said: “4K UHD and HDR compatibility coupled with laser technology delivers a truly spectacular big screen experience. With the unrivalled set-up convenience, the HZ40 creates an exceptional 100-in full HD display that can be installed, tidied away after use or easily taken around to friends for a film night.”
The HZ40 is priced at £1,299.99 MSRP.
