Samsung Electronics has introduced a new generation of television, announcing the availability of its mobile-friendly TV, The Sero.
Designed for a generation of social media users, Samsung’s latest lifestyle TV introduces a new era of content viewing, delivering a mobile-optimised experience. The screen automatically rotates between horizontal and vertical orientations to mirror the content. The screen can also be rotated by remote control, voice command and via the SmartThings app.
The Sero features Samsung’s QLED technology which has been engineered to enhance the viewing experience.
Also designed to be mobile-friendly and aimed at a new generation of users, the TV adapts to individual needs. The user can mirror phone content to the TV which can be done by tapping the phone on The Sero. Users can also have a cinematic experience as the TV delivers 100% colour volume with over a billion colours and shades to enhance the display.
The Sero also uses AI to upscale content to 4K resolutions, allowing users to stream their content in detail regardless of the source.
To accompany the display, The Sero also has a multi-channel speaker built in which is equipped with 60W, 4.1ch front-firing speakers.
When not in use, The Sero screen features a unique Portrait Mode which allows consumers to choose from more than 50 vertical backgrounds to enhance their home instead of just having a black screen. Another option is the Ambient Mode+ which allows useful information to be displayed on screen or to blend the TV into its surroundings. This mode can be used in horizontal orientation as well.
“We are exceptionally proud to launch The Sero to the market,” commented Dan Hastings, director, TV and AV at Samsung Electronics UK. “It is an industry-first and so we are able to capture the demand of smartphone/social media users by bringing an innovation that can display any content imaginable.
“With people now using their TVs in different ways than ever before, whether scrolling through social media, watching the latest viral videos or catching up on TV, The Sero is able to seamlessly adapt to enhance whatever content the user is watching, bringing a more bespoke and optimised experience.”
The Sero is available now in 43-in and features a contemporary navy-blue bezel design. It is priced at £1,599.
