Last month at the CEDIA Expo in Dallas, Savant unveiled the Savant Remote. Combining the convenience of a universal remote with the power of home automation, the Savant Remote simplifies the entertainment experience for consumers, letting them control devices like Sonos, Apple TV, Sky and other cable boxes, from a single device. The Savant Remote is part of Savant's new family of wireless devices, which also includes the Savant Host and Blaster — all designed in collaboration with award-winning design studio Ammunition, led by renowned industrial designer Robert Brunner. Utilizing the same cutting-edge technology found in Savant's PRO line of luxury products, these affordable new devices make premium home automation available to everyone for the first time. “This new affordable line of products builds on our years of experience in the luxury market, designing technology that makes enjoying home easier and more personal,” said William Lynch, Savant CEO. “Our aim with the new Savant Remote was to create an easy to use but incredibly powerful entertainment interface, and address the major sources of frustration with traditional and universal remotes.” The Savant Remote offers consumers an unmatched interactive experience. Users can control over 380,000 of today's most popular entertainment devices and switch easily between their favourites. The high-resolution touchscreen eliminates the need for extra buttons by elevating additional controls when necessary. Control happens wirelessly via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi without requiring any line of sight between the Remote and your entertainment system. Savant also announced the Savant PRO Remote at the CEDIA 2015 Expo; an add-on for existing Savant PRO systems which will be available in the UK and Europe with the release of the enhanced Savant PRO App (version 8.0) in Q1 2016. Savant also introduced Savant Instant, an in-app guided setup for the new family of devices that gets users up and running in minutes. The app quickly walks users through each step of the setup process, and helps them connect all their entertainment devices without needing to know specific model types or model numbers. "This is by far the easiest universal remote on the market to set up," added Lynch. "We named it Savant Instant for a reason." Savant Instant is just one of the new features of the redesigned Savant App. The interface has been streamlined for simplicity, offering even faster access to controls of scenes, services, and settings. The Savant App is available for free on both iOS and Android. Savant's new family of devices is estimated to be available in the UK and Europe in summer 2016. The Savant Remote will be available as part of an entertainment package that includes the Savant Remote, Host, and Blaster. The Host is the centre of every Savant Home solution, communicating wirelessly with other devices to create the experience of home automation. The Blaster lets homeowners control devices in closed cabinets, reaching cable boxes, receivers, and other devices outside the line of sight of the Remote. www.savant.com
