Z-Wave has announced the global release of its support device for smart home installers, the Z-Wave Certified Installer Toolkit.
The Z-Wave Certified Installer Toolkit (CIT) is being demoed to visitors to ISE 2018 this week as it is launched into the EMEA market.
Incorporating software designed to make installation and testing of a Z-Wave smart home mesh network easier for CIs, the toolkit functions as maintenance and diagnostics device that can provide textual and graphical information on the health and stability of any Z-Wave network. The tool measures Z-Wave RF wireless signals to assist with any configuration or compatibility issues that may arise during setup or upgrading.
Details are available instantly on any certified installed products via the Alliance’s database of all Z-Wave certified products.
The toolkit can provides access to everything from technical Z-Wave protocol information to the original owner’s manual for each product (following Z-Wave Plus certification), and is also field upgradable.
The user interface is accessible via mobile phone, tablet or laptop/computer.
Integrators who purchase a toolkit at ISE 2018 will receive their first-year of Z-Wave Alliance membership for only one dollar (around £0.80). All software updates and upgrades following the purchase of a CIT will also be available free of charge if the installer remains a member.
