Cabasse reveals new addition to The Pearl collection
Frech hi-fi manufacturer has introduced The Pearl Akoya, the latest product in its streaming audio range.
This release follows the global success of Cabasse’s The Pearl wireless streaming loudspeaker, the original product in the range, released in 2018.
Designed to be an ultra-compact active speaker, The Pearl Akoya features the same level of technology and expertise as the popular La Sphère speaker.
Despite its size, it still creates the same quality pure sound as its predecessor, The Pearl.
According to Cabasse, the company has achieved a technological feat with The Pearl Akoya by managing to develop and integrate the most compact tri-axial speaker ever created (bass, midrange and new carbon and neodymium coaxial tweeter) into a 22cm spherical volume.
Although the drivers take up very little space in the housing, they deliver a lot of power from the 1050 watts RMS amplifiers and a smooth response from 30Hz to 27,000Hz.
Being a wireless streaming speaker, The Pearl Akoya is equipped with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and is compatible with Cabasse StreamCONTROL multiroom systems, which can be controlled by voice and reads all digital audio formats.
The Pearl Akoya features the Cabasse patented automatic calibration system (CRCS), as found on all Cabasse high-end speakers, for an optimised acoustic experience no matter where the speaker is positioned.
For a stereo set up, users can connect two The Pearl Akoya speakers through a simple Wi-Fi connection without the need for an addition box or hub. It can also be connected to a TV, CD player, or turntable and phono stage using its optical digital or 3.5mm analogue jack inputs.
The Pearl Akoya will be available from November 2019 and comes with a custom carrier case, a cloth covered power cable and 3.5mm jack and micro-USB adaptors. A stand and wall bracket is also available to purchase at an additional price.
Available in black or white, the UK retail price for The Pearl Akoya is £1499 incl. VAT.
