NETGEAR expands Orbi Mesh Wi-Fi System using Wi-Fi 6 to improve performance of gigabit internet in the home
NETGEAR has announced the upcoming expansion of its Orbi Mesh Wi-Fi System to address the performance needs of the gigabit internet home.
Orbi Whole Home Wi-Fi System uses patented Fastlane3 technology that will be available using 6th generation Wi-Fi, 802.11ax or Wi-Fi 6. This combination aims to set new performance benchmarks for Mesh Wi-Fi Systems and deliver sustained gigabit internet speeds via Wi-Fi across homes and estates.
Last August, NETGEAR revealed that it was bringing Wi-Fi and Hi-Fi together with the Orbi Voice Smart Speaker and Wi-Fi Mesh Satellite with built-in Amazon Alexa.
Having Orbi Voice as part of any Orbi Wi-Fi System creates expansive whole home Wi-Fi coverage up to 4,500 sq ft or more of high performance Wi-fi up to 3 Gigabits per second combined Wi-Fi speed. It also features audio by Harman Kardon to ensure top quality sound across the house. The Amazon Alexa capability, fully integrated into Orbi Voice satellite, allows users to ask to play music as well as set alarms, control IoT devices, check traffic, weather, sports scores, etc, without needing a separate Amazon Echo device.
Orbi with Wi-Fi 6 is expected to be available on the Orbi RBK50 series in the second half of this year.
