Pioneer Introduces 3-Spot Front Surround Sound To

Pioneer brings a new generation of surround sound
to the homes of entertainment enthusiasts with the launch of two
new DVD Home Cinema Systems. The Pioneer DCS-424 and DCS-323 uniquely
feature an innovative 3-Spot Front Surround setting, allowing the
rear surround satellite speakers to be moved to the front, removing
unsightly wiring crossing the lounge. With easy room set-up, users
can adjust the system according to the size of the room and their
listening position, ensuring maximum benefit of all audio features.
In addition to superior sound, flexibility
is key with a choice of using speakers in either a 3-Spot Front
Surround setting or as a regular 5.1 surround system.Ê Depending
on room size and layout, users can also chose either the floor-standing
tallboy speakers of the DCS-424 or the compact satellite speakers
of the DCS-323.

Pioneer's Dialogue Enhancement feature
* Using the left/right front speakers in
addition to the centre speaker this dialogue enhancement mode ensures
you can hear every line during a loud action scene.
* With the easy room set-up function users
can set the system according to the size and layout of the room
and their positioning, ensuring maximum benefit of all audio features
* Combine DSP and Direct Diffuse technology
for 3 Spot Front Surround set-up, where the rear speakers are positioned
on top of the front speakers to provide a wider sweet-spot
* Chose either Pioneerâs DCS-424 3-Spot Front
Surround with tall boy front speakers or the DCS-323 3-Spot Front
Surround with compact front speakers.

The DVD home cinema experience is also dependent

* Pioneer's Video Adjustment function provides
easy adjustment of picture quality settings, including contrast,
brightness and colours. Memory mode allows users to create their
own presets, which can be dedicated to favourite films or genres,
and can be recalled at any time, eliminating the need for adjusting
the TV when switching between watching a DVD and a regular broadcast
* Both DVD Home Cinema Systems use RGB Video
Output via Euro-SCART to create pure, high quality images
Playback Compatibility
Pioneer's DCS-424 and DCS-323 allow users
to playback, besides DVD-Video, many additional types of disc formats,
including VideoCD, SVCD, MP3, WMA and JPEG files on CD discs In
addition these new DVD Home Cinema Systems also feature RW Compatibility,
handling not only standard DVD Video mode home recorded DVD-R and
DVD-RW discs, but equally well DVD-RW discs recorded in DVD Video
Recording Mode with play list edits.
Availability
The Pioneer DCS-323 and DCS-424 will be available
from June 2004.
