JVC unveils new HD Home Theatre Projection System (7/6/2004)

JVC Professional Europe Ltd is pleased to announce the new flagship model in home theatre products, the DLA-HD2K (DILA). This projection system has a dedicated 16:9 chip and has been specifically designed for home theatre users seeking the utmost in picture quality.

The projector uses three 0.8-inch, D-ILA) devices, which have been developed by JVC to produce full HD resolution images (1920x1080; 2.1 mega-pixels) for impeccable reproduction quality. The results are that the DLA-HD2k produces film-like images that are notable for their high contrast and deep black levels showing minimal loss of detail.

An interesting feature of the DLA-HD2k is that it accepts a diverse range of video sources including analogue television broadcasts, HDTV signals from broadcast satellite (BS) and terrestrial digital television broadcasts, as well as standard definition (SD) images from DVD players. All images are projected at full HD resolution to produce precise, even picture quality that enabling users to reproduce the cinematic experience at home. Its 250 watt extra-high pressure mercury lamp reduces power consumption and running costs.

The high performance DLA-HD2K projector addresses many of the common complaints found in other projection systems by minimizing the "grid" or "screen door effect" that results from low resolution quality. The DLA-HD2K projector produces film-like quality with fluid images and faithful color reproduction, and supports a diverse range of high resolution image sources at full HD resolution output. The new JVC HD-2K not only provides exquisite high detail and stable native HD image but also increases the contrast ratio from the below 1000:1 of the HX-1 to 2 200:1.

Bob Harris Ð Sales Manager for Projection Systems Ð JVC Professional Europe Ltd said "The DLA-HD2K enables users to experience the full power of cinema at home with its new full HD device and integrated high performance video processor. The projectors unique new optical engine produces the high contrast demanded by home theatre applications. Viewers will find that this projector delivers superior clarity and resolution which is wanted by the most demanding home cinema enthusiasts."
