LG Electronics Begins Long Distance Love Affair With
Laundry Via Introduction of Industry's First Remote Monitoring System
(17/1/2005)
Breakthrough, First-of-its-Kind System Offers
More Convenience and Flexibility to On-the-Go Consumers
LG Electronics, a leading global consumer
products manufacturer, today unveiled the LG Remote Monitoring Laundry
System. Shown for the first time at the 2005 International Builders'
Show at the Orlando Convention Center (Booth #W1501), January 13-16,
2005, this unique washer and dryer system offers today's busy consumers
the freedom and convenience to monitor their laundry cycle remotely,
with a small device -- ultimately letting them spend more of their
time focusing on activities they enjoy.
"This is the age of automation and consumers
are seeking ways to make their lives more efficient and enjoyable,
and are looking for products to help them do so. At LG, we are dedicated
to creating innovative home appliances that do just that -- helping
to simplify consumers' daily lives -- and the LG Remote Monitoring
Laundry System takes this concept to the next level," said Teddy
Hwang, President of Digital Appliances for LG Electronics, U.S.A.
"Reinforcing our brand promise of helping to make 'Life's Good,'
a reality, the LG Remote Monitoring Laundry System, which is an
industry-first, takes the hassle out of doing the laundry, and makes
it an easier and less time consuming chore."
LG's Remote Monitoring Laundry System, which
utilizes Power Line Communication (PLC) technology, comes with a
separate monitor to allow for the remote monitoring. The remote
monitoring system kit can be placed within the home into any electrical
outlet.
The interface displays the washing/rinsing/spinning,
remaining time, and a buzzer signifying the end of each cycle. With
the remote monitoring system, users are able to see the progress
of washing and drying cycles as well as remaining time of the cycles.
Additionally, the new LG Remote Monitoring
Laundry System boasts all the desirable features of LG's popular
front panel system, which has both control panels and the loading
door on the front of the unit. These laundry units can be either
stacked to save space or place side by side. In addition to its
easy control access and sleek design, it also features the Direct
Drive system, automatic temperature control and a 3.82 cubic foot
(IEC) capacity -- one of the largest load capacities on the market.
The washing machine also features one of the fastest spin speeds
available at 1,320 RPM and boasts a 2.2 efficient energy rating.
The LG Remote Monitoring Laundry System is
available at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $1,349 for
the washing machine, and $949 for the dryer. The remote monitoring
device must be purchased. Both products are available in titanium
finish, and will be available in 2Q 2005.
LG also offers a variety of other technologically-advanced,
space-saving, cutting-edge designs for the laundry room, including
the LG Tromm Front Control, Rear Control system and Wash & Dry combination.
Products specifications and pricing are subject
to change.
