Asheridge Announces Breakthrough in Test Equipment for Custom Installations (3/4/2006)

Asheridge Communications, the specialist provider of high quality audio visual equipment, cables and components for the electronic home, has launched the CableIQ(tm) Residential Qualifier from Fluke Networks - the first cable qualification tester designed to meet the specific needs of the UK custom installer and replace the need for multiple testing products. With this easily portable innovation, installers can quickly verify and document data, phone, VoIP, CATV, security, and audio cabling, so improving fault-finding, dramatically reducing call-backs and helping to build a reputation for high quality, reliable service.

The CableIQ(tm) Residential Qualifier from Asheridge is a single, feature-rich, hand-held testing device with an intuitive, easy to follow user interface. It enables installers to carry out data cable bandwidth testing, CATV coax qualification and signal strength testing, voice cable wire-mapping and ID-tagging through bridge-taps. At the same time, installers can perform other key tasks, such as, security wire continuity toning, and speaker installation testing all from the one device.

"The CableIQ(tm) Residential Qualifier is the all-in-one testing device UK custom installers have been asking for" explains Jonathan Rigby, Sales Director at Asheridge. "Not only will it help them qualify that systems are defect-free, but it will also help determine the speed that existing cabling can support and help solve network connectivity problems - and all this from a single, value for money product".

The CableIQ(tm) incorporates a range of powerful troubleshooting features. Its intelligent 'wiremap' function graphically plots the cable wiring configuration, and shows the distance to 'opens' and 'shorts' to help isolate faults. In addition, its diagnostic capabilities extend to identifying causes of NEXT and Return Loss faults, while 'Discover' mode will identify the type and speed of service available at an outlet.
