The Sound of Silence by Acoustiblok (9/5/2006)
Stand G11, CEDIA UK Expo 2006
Encapsulating a top-end home cinema by keeping
the noise out and sound in, without compromising space, can be a
tall order.
Custom installers worth their salt will provide
a solution to enable the meatiest of sound systems to be used without
disturbing the rest of the household and, by the same token, allowing
full enjoyment of a film or sound system without disturbance.
More and more custom installers are using
Acoustiblok, the thinnest space-saving material on the market, which
provides such effective noise reduction it is used in professional
sound studios and commercial cinema complexes.
Acoustiblok is only 3mm thick and gives a
26 decibel sound reduction rating, (that is six decibels better
than sheet lead). There is also a 6mm product which gives a 32 dB
reduction.
The solution from the States is taking the
UK AV market by storm and will be exhibited at this year's Cedia
Expo at London's Excel from 19-22 June on Stand G11.
Acoustiblok, which is RIBA (Royal Institute
of British Architects) listed; a member of Cedia, and has received
an award for innovation and technology endorsed by Defra, is ideal
for retro and new build projects.
Acoustiblok can provide an installation service
or act as a consultant for the client if an independent installer
is appointed.
Mike Ervine, Acoustiblok Managing Director,
said:" We showcased Acoustiblok at last year's Cedia show and had
an incredible response from the industry.
"Many custom installers found their clients
had bought top-end systems but were unable to use them fully because
they did not have adequate sound insulation. Now installers are
working with us in providing their clients with a solution, enabling
them to enjoy their home cinema investment. The feedback from the
industry has been excellent and we are looking forward to another
successful show at Excel in June."
