Schneider Electric Announces Delta 8 Residential
Network System (9/10/2006)
Telephone, data, TV and entertainment can
be piped to every outlet in the home thanks to an easy to install
new system from Schneider Electric. Called Delta 8, the new kit
delivers an all in one residential network.
Delta 8 is an integrated voice-data-image
(VDI) solution, bringing signals through a single cable to outlets
anywhere in the home.
Once the central unit has been connected
to the incoming telephone, TV and data cables, all signals are continuously
transmitted to all outlets, in all rooms.
Since every core unit has eight links, and
the cable carries three services, the system provides the equivalent
of 24 telephone, TV and data outlet functions. Whilst ideally suited
to flats and apartments, larger properties can be catered for by
simply stacking units together.
The system brings great flexibility to developers
providing a cost effective and easily installed solution, giving
properties affordable standout and a real competitive edge with
broad consumer appeal
The attractive and discrete design enables
the core unit to be easily integrated into any home. It requires
little space and a range of installation options exist including
DIN rail mounting in an appropriate modular enclosure, or direct
wall mounting using supplied side clips.
Tool free connectors at the outlet and insulation
displacement connectors (IDCs) at the core unit; make cable termination
quick and easy.
The ease of installation makes the Delta
8 system an inexpensive smart home technology that delivers significant
added value for contractors, homebuilders, developers and specialist
installers alike.
