Denon Announces the DVD-3930 High-End Universal Disc Player with Realta T2 1080p Upscaling (9/10/2006)

The DVD-3930 dramatically enhances standard DVDs with broadcast-quality HQV Picture Improvement circuitry, before applying reference-class 1080p upscaling. This is the same technology used by US Hi-Def TV networks when they run out of HD content.

Only Denon has Realta DVD Processing and the 'Near-HD' results from DVD, give Full-HD display owners their best picture source and a musical sound quality that matches that of specialist audio players.

The 3930 combines Denon's decades of experience, with $60,000 worth of Silicon Optix 'Teranex' HQV technology, reference-class 1080p scaling, advanced architecture and heavyweight audiophile construction. In addition to being an awesome vision product, this is also a world class high-end universal music player. Anyone who has spent £2k, £3k or more on an HD ready Plasma, LCD or Projector needs a DVD-3930.

If bought separately today, the Teranex HD technology in this player would cost around £35,000. By delivering broadcast-grade HD picture enhancement with 1080p scaling, Denon deliver by far the best DVD picture available in this price class.

As used by ABC, NBC, Warners, Turner, Fox, CBS and many more, to generate broadcast HDTV pics from standard material and to clean and remaster Hollywood movies.

Denon's DVD-A1XVA and now the DVD-3930 are the only DVD players available with this technology.

The Realta HQV video engine uses the same video-processing power - one trillion operations per second! as the $60k Teranex Xantus platform, which is widely used in Hollywood's post production and television broadcast markets, such as Lucasfilm, ABC, NBC, Warners, Turner, Fox, CBS and more. HQV (Hollywood Quality Video) processing is a no-compromise video-processing solution designed for the most demanding home theatre and digital cinema applications.
