Small Form Factor, Plasma Friendly, New Global
Caché GC-RG1 Works With Other Vendors Products and Allows Signals
to be Received and Sent Over a Network
Global Caché, the award winning provider
of IP-enabling products for homes and businesses, announced today
they will begin shipment of the GC-RG1 IR Receiver immediately.
The GC-RG1 is a small infrared (IR) receiver engineered to work
in a multitude of environments and is compatible with other manufacturers
systems. Designed to resist interference from sunlight, florescent
lights, and plasma displays, the GC-RG1 provides plug-and-play integration
into multi-room IR systems, employing conventional wiring or a network.
Global Caché's products include the GC-100
Network Adapter, a flexible and easy to use hardware device connecting
infrared (IR), serial (RS232), relay (contact closure) devices,
and sensor input to a network. The GC-100 enables the use of network-based
software to control and automate diverse devices throughout a home
and business. In addition, Global Caché provides IR learners, sensors,
and other IP-enabling products to connect previously unconnected
systems to a network. Global Caché products are based upon open
systems and accepted industry standards.
"We have been looking forward to the release
of the GC-RG1," said Ted Singh, Embedded Automation Business Development
Manager, creators of mControl automation software. "With this product
our software is able to recognize incoming IR commands and automatically
launch mControl macros, allowing us to accomplish a multitude of
functions, such as controlling Z-Wave and INSTEON devices, sending
email, sending IR commands, or launching other programs. Previously,
to initiate any type of sophisticated automation via IR control,
an expensive touchscreen and custom software were required. Used
together, Global Caché and mControl are a complete system. This
solution requires no custom software, making it cost-effective and
easy to use. In our opinion, it can become the de facto solution
for the home theater."
Walt Keller, Global Caché President said,
"We're excited to begin shipping the much anticipated GC-RG1. This
product, with its incredibly small form factor and flexible application
in all types of environments, is a direct result of listening to
our customers and partners. The product is so tiny and versatile
it can be used in any environment to receive IR signals, such as
legacy Xantech environments, and over a network when used with our
GC-100 Network Adapter. The response from our partners and dealers
and installers has been overwhelming positive."
