Sima introduces ExtenHD family of integrated HDMI components (15/8/2007)

Booth 542, CEDIA US Expo

Sima Products Corporation proudly introduces a complete family of integrated HDMI components that takes you far beyond simple HD connections. On the heels of our pro-sumer VS series of A/V and HDMI switchers, the new ExtenHD(tm) line breaks out the full professional toolbox with an array of well-designed, high-end components that talk, listen and recognize the full spectrum of HDMI. The ExtenHD(tm) product line is built to meet the needs and exceed the requirements of custom install and professional users, for projection, multiple displays and completely integrated, controlled systems.

"We've listened to our customers and created the ExtenHD(tm) line to meet their needs," says Bob Pennington, Sima's Commercial Products Manager. "The custom installer and pro user require a higher standard with more demanding performance than what is available in consumer-level HD products. We have put the complete puzzle together from test generation to protocol conversion." Don't just send it, ExtenHD(tm) it.

One of the key members of the ExtenHD(tm) family is the X-GEN-Pro - a fully featured HDMI test generator. This compact unit allows users to select from over 35 different HD patterns and frequencies to test displays. The unit can be effectively used to diagnose switching and transport gear over the HDMI signal path. "Many of our customer support calls turn out to be incompatibility issues. We have found out that many users didn't know what resolutions their display could support" says Pennington. The X-GEN-Pro allows users to generate specific resolutions to test and confirm resolution and signal integrity of the entire signal path. The XGEN-Pro also allows users to inject their own audio signal into the HDMI stream. The X-GEN Pro is a tool that can save time and reduce repeat call outs for the custom installer.

Another important category in the ExtenHD(tm) family includes our 2 protocol converters. The XCON-YUV takes HDMI and converts it to component format. The X-CAT products allow similar signal conversion, using standard Cat-5 or Cat 6 cabling. "Using HDMI is convenient for many users and it has it's advantages, but we realize that it's not always thesolution", adds Pennington.

The ExtenHD(tm) family of products also includes models for switching and distribution. The XSW41 is a 4 input, 1 output switcher that offers an integrated digital audio (Coaxial or Optical) switch in the same chassis. Installers that have to support more than one display will be happy to learn about the X-210, a combination 2 input switcher with a 10 output distribution amp/splitter. If you already have HDMI switching implemented and want to expand the number of outputs, the ExtenHD(tm) product line includes the XDA-18 - an 8 output distribution amp/splitter.

All of the ExtenHD(tm) products are rack mountable and include infrared remote or RS-232 control where applicable.
