Smart-e shows new SNX-888+ multi-format distribution matrix switch (19/5/2008)

Stands J5a, CEDIA UK Expo 2008

Unique new AV equipment, stand visit by a sporting celebrity and the return of it's popular manufacturer seminar, all from Smart-e at CEDIA EXPO 2008

A new multi-format distribution matrix switch, the SNX-888+, which is the first of its kind to combine local and remote connections via a single cable is being launched by Smart-e Limited at this year's CEDIA EXPO. In addition to the SNX-888+, the UK audio and video distribution and switching company will have a range of its residential distribution equipment displayed on the stand as well as a visit from British racing driving Jason Plato who recently had Smart-e equipment installed in his home. The company is also holding a manufacturer product training session at the EXPO on Wednesday 25th June.

Smart-e's new unique SNX-888+ remote/local combination switch The new matrix, named the SNX-888+, being launched at the EXPO provides an extremely flexible, simple and cost-effective AV solution via CAT 5* cable, and is ideal for a range of environments from residential to educational and corporate use. As Jon Lane Smart-e's managing director says "This new product has all the flexibility, options and professional sound and vision quality you need, however the big difference is that it is all available down one cable and at an extremely competitive price". Fitted into a 1U box, the SNX-888+ features 8 integrated CAT 5* inputs allowing for up to 8 remote multi-format video sources. The 8 standard HD15 inputs allow for up to 8 local multi-format video sources, whilst 8 integral CAT 5* outputs allow for up to 8 remote screens.

Smart-e's AV matrices are unique in that they provide a 'one cable solution' with transmission of HD compatible signals (1080p + resolutions) digital/analogue audio, RS232/IR and inline power, all down a single CAT 5*cable. This reduces the amount of cable required, cutting cable and install costs as well as making for tidier environments.

Jason Plato visits the Smart-e stand at CEDIA EXPO 2008 Between 12.00 and 13.30 on Wednesday, 25th June UK British racing driver Jason Plato will visit Smart-e's stand. Jason recently had a new automated AV system installed in his 5-bed barn conversion home on the outskirts of Oxford, which included Smart-e equipment. As well as a successful career in autosport, Jason is a presenter on Fifth Gear, and will be happy to meet both AV and auto enthusiasts.

Smart-e seminar - 25th June 2008 Smart-e is holding its popular product training seminar at the EXPO on Wednesday 25th June at 10.00. The seminar includes 3.5 CEU points for CEDIA members and is for professionals designing and installing multi-room AV systems. The one hour seminar gives an overview of how Smart-e's innovative and flexible equipment can simplify residential AV installations over CAT 5* structured cabling.

Smart-e's range of switching and distribution matrices deliver multi-format professional high quality sound and images from DVD players, set-top boxes, video cameras, laptops and PCs, to LCD and plasma screens, cinematic projectors, PC monitors and speakers. The number of rooms, and areas, that can be served by Smart-e matrices is not restricted and upgrades are quick and easy to undertake in situ, With a three year warranty, feature rich range of equipment with easy-to-use controls, and all the latest compatibility such as, BluRay, Smart-e equipment has become an essential piece of kit for today's intelligent home.

Visit Smart-e's stand (stand number J5a) at CEDIA EXPO 2008 where you can see a demonstration and talk to the Smart-e team first hand.
