Datacolor launches ColorFacts Professional 7.5 (19/5/2008) Datacolor today announces the upgrade to its ColorFacts Professional colour calibration system, ColorFacts 7.5. ColorFacts 7.5 fully exploits the new colorimeter Spyder3's advantages and offers a range of new features that enables developers or professionals installing high-end equipment at customer sites to measure and calibrate TV sets even more precisely. Additionally, Datacolor, in collaboration with MGR International, now offers ColorFacts training for trade professionals. Christoph Gamper, general manager EMEA at Datacolor, says: "The home movie theatre market still has a tremendous potential for growth, especially in the LCD TV segment. The high demand for these products illustrates that first-rate image quality is important to customers. However, flawed colour rendition noticeably diminishes image quality. ColorFacts Professional 7.5 provides professionals with a product that gets the maximum image quality from TV systems. This means added value for the specialist trade performing the colour calibration and a significantly enhanced TV viewing experience for the consumer." The new Datacolor Spyder3 sensor's measurement opening covers a surface of 372mm2, a 246 per cent increase over its predecessor. With measurement accuracy increased by 29 per cent, Spyder3 is currently the only colorimeter in its class that is equipped with seven colour detectors. The ColorFacts Professional 7.5 software also offers enhanced sensor data readouts and offers an EyeOne display option, letting users choose whether an LCD or CRT screen is being measured to increase accuracy further still. ColorFacts Professional 7.5 is available immediately priced at £1,434 excluding VAT. The software is available for download immediately. Upgrades are free for ColorFacts Professional 7.0 users. (To be able to use the software's full functionality, ColorFacts Professional 7.0 users will need to separately purchase a Spyder3 colorimeter such as the Spyder3Pro, priced at £99 excluding VAT.)
