Dynalite Europe shows state-of-the-art controllers (28/5/2008) Stand H20, CEDIA UK Expo 2008 Lighting control manufacturer, Dynalite Europe Ltd will use CEDIA expo (Stand H20) to introduce its new range of controllers, each of which has been developed to provide economical solutions which incorporate design innovation and practical application. These latest innovations include the low cost Residential/Hotel Room Controller, the scaleable Modular Load Controller, the New Revolution mini Touchscreens, along with the new low profile, UK/European compatible user control panels.
Price Fighter Residential/Hotel Room Controller To provide the market with a very low cost, high quality, dimming and control solution which is ideal for hotels and residential environments, Dynalite has introduced its Residential/Hotel Room Controller. This 16 channel system provides an effective solution for controlling the various lighting channels and devices which are commonly featured in hotel guest rooms and domestic environments. In doing so it is able to dramatically reduce installation costs, whilst also eliminating the need to use multiple controller types to suit a mixture of loads. Where required these controllers can be linked together to satisfy the requirements of a larger installation. A combination of 8 x 2amp leading edge channels and 8 user defined modules are featured within this price competitive system. The leading edge channels are used to control core lighting circuits including low voltage, whilst the modular channels enables the system to control, all from a single controller, the other loads which are used to operate blinds, curtains, fans and heated towel rails for example. This system is extremely versatile, which makes it ideal for hotel applications, as it offers the hotelier greater control to enhance the guest experience. The system can be used to turn everything on and off from a master control or keycard at the door and allows the reception desk to scene set the room so that the guest gets a 'welcome scene' when entering the room. A time delay will avoid unnecessary energy wastage. When the guest leaves the room all the lighting circuits and other loads can be turned off to reduce energy consumption. The modular channels incorporate plug-in output modules, enabling it to be configured to the specific requirements of the application. Being wall mounted the design of the enclosure enables direct installation and avoids the requirement for supplementary hardware. Modular Load Centre Dynalite's Modular Load Centre has brought to the market a neat and compact rack style enclosure which is ideal for addressing the more sophisticated requirements of hotel, boardroom and residential applications. Its innovative design enables it to be built-up to incorporate pre-wired, mixed load, plug-in modular controllers to simplify both lighting control and smart technology installations. Its constrained mounting footprint, with top duct entry, was originally developed to address the specific requirements of the prestigious Burj project in Dubai and has now become a major feature of this new product range. Traditionally, when installing components into conventional DIN rail load centre enclosures, careful consideration needs to be given to the wiring layout and the provision of wiring restraints to preserve segregation principles. However, with Dynalite's Modular Load Centre the rack enclosure and PCB assemblies have been specifically designed to provide complete segregation between the SELV and mains rated circuitry, thereby improving safety, whilst also reducing installation costs. To speed up the installation and to achieve a much better connection which is more reliable, Dynalite has featured cage clamp wiring terminals. These automatically clamp the wire, when pushed into place, thereby avoiding the requirement for the cabling to be secured into screw terminal blocks. This modular system gives the installer the flexibility to choose the size of rack that is required to suit the individual demands of the project. Its flexible design enables the rack unit to incorporate the required number of channels which are installed directly into the enclosure to avoid the requirement for a separate enclosure to be sourced. These racks can accommodate 24, 32, 48 or 64 channel configurations and allow the 8 channel controllers to simply plug into the rack enclosure assembly, thereby negating the need to hardwire the modules. As each channel represents a circuit, these modular controllers can be used to control the various lighting circuits within a project such as wall lights, table and floor lamps or downlights. These racks can also feature other control modules such as relays which can be used to control blinds, curtains, retractable projector screens, heated towel rails or extractor fans. Not only does this modular concept make maintenance much easier, but also provides the flexibility for the system to be easily reconfigured to suit the changing requirements for lighting control or other devices within both commercial and domestic environments. A major benefit of this very simple modular system is that it enables each rack to be installed, wired and tested prior to the plug-in electronic components being installed. This is achieved by use of an optional bypass module which is used to switch the module channel on and off. This capability avoids the potential for damage to the delicate controllers during the first fix stage and, as the controller modules are installed after the rack assembly has been installed and tested, it avoids the risk of shards penetrating the controller housing and creating the potential for PCB short circuits. As conventional DIN rail load centre enclosures are often fabricated in non-metallic materials they can suffer from poor thermal conductivity, which can lead to elevated internal temperatures which can cause premature component failures. To overcome these issues, Dynalite has ensured that the design of their Modular Load Centre has a natural airflow to greatly improve thermal performance and extend component life. The New Double Gang Wall Box Mini Touchscreen Dynalite's new DTP100 Mini Touchscreen has been specifically designed to fit within a BS double gang wall box for ease of installation and greater aesthetic appeal. Complete integration into Dynalite's DyNet data network, has overcome the difficulties associated with the integration of third party equipment, whilst the use of the Windows CE operating system has enhanced the functionality of the DTP100, enabling third party software to be utilised. To provide exceptionally creative design flexibility, each of the pages is created using conventional web authoring tools. New Low Profile, UK/European Compatible User Control Panels. Dynalite has introduced its second generation of User Control Panels. The innovative design of the Revolution 2 Range, known as the DR2PE, has enabled Dynalite to make the facia plates compatible with both the BS and European Standard markets. In doing so, these control panels are able to be installed onto the square shaped BS wall boxes as well as the round shaped Euro wall boxes. This innovative solution offers the provision of single or double button columns on a single gang plate, whilst still being capable of mounting in a circular EURO wall box. The DR2PE range offers superior capability with the availability of: complex join, conditional logic, infrared capability and custom panels. The availability of RJ11 connection options offers installation benefits, as every wire does not have to be terminated. The range also includes screwless plates to address the visual requirements of high profile areas. These controllers are available with a unique integral Organic Light Emitting Diode display (OLED), which has been designed to clearly show the actual status of the control functions. Being fully programmable, there is no limitation on what can be displayed. The system can also integrate environmental and lighting controls onto a single user interface to enhance visual appeal and reduce clutter. The DR2PE has been launched with metallic finish, with solid buttons. Glass and other non-metallic finishes will follow within a few months. To suit the customer's requirements each button can be engraved with either text or symbols.
