Asheridge shows new media server, HDMI and switching innovations (30/5/2008) Stand D12, CEDIA UK Expo 2008 Asheridge Communications showcases an Expo first with its brand new media server alongside MuxLab and Purelink branded innovations from its acclaimed family of multi-room audio visual, testing, cabling, connector, switching and home networking solutions. The new FRED 365 media server from Asheridge provides an unparalleled single box entertainment solution for both the custom install and smaller Commercial market sectors. Available at a realistic price point, the FRED 365 consists of one centrally located entertainment server with the ability to store and stream content to a number of remotely located media players throughout a property. Asheridge will be featuring its recently launched Cat 5/6 based HDMI extender kit on the Stand. Manufactured by MuxLab, the kit enables HDMI equipment, such as Blu Ray, HD DVD, PS3 and other HD sources to be easily connected to HDMI enabled display equipment such as, plasma screens and projectors. Visitors will see how it offers cost and installation benefits by allowing the use of commonly installed data cables instead of the more expensive and cumbersome HDMI cables. Also on show from MuxLab will be a choice of VGA Passive, Long Reach Active, Digital Audio and Stereo Hi Fi Baluns, PS2 Converters and HDTV Component Video Hub. Another highlight on the Asheridge Stand will include the PureLink range of DVI / HDMI matrix routers. Developed and manufactured by Dtrovision, the US based leader in the sector, these second generation devices provide an attractive, feature-rich option for installers seeking to switch audio or video signals to multiple destinations in custom install applications. From the award-winning ZÕN range of 'out-of-the-box' multi-room systems manufactured by US-based Oxmoor Corporation, Asheridge will show the ZÕN ZAS-430. This system provides six-zones of audio and features a stylish LCD display for effortless control whilst the more compact ZAS-130 presents a space saving four-zone option. Both choices are modular solutions which can be easily expanded to suit customer requirements for additional zones, as required. Easy to install and offering proven reliability and performance, CEDIA Expo visitors can see how the ZAS-430 and ZAS-130 units may also be integrated with new or existing audio systems. ZÕN was recently awarded the Best AV Distribution System title in the 2008 SVI Awards. Also on display is the Pro9000 video switching range from SCION Technology. The Pro 9000 can handle UXGA, Component HD, S-Video, Composite Video and Stereo Audio and can even distribute HD sources (up to 1080p), sending all signals over CAT5e or CAT6 cable. In testing equipment, Asheridge will show the latest in Microscanner cable verifiers and ProScanner series testers whilst also on show will be products from its Sidewinder cable and connector offerings and Rhino Pro labelling range. Product demonstrations from Asheridge's trained staff are available to visitors on the Stand throughout the event.
