AWE offers new entry level Pronto TSU-9200 from Philips (3/7/2008) CEDIA UK Expo 2008 AWE, the exclusive distributor of the Philips Pronto range to the UK CI market, has launched the latest addition to its Pronto offering, the TSU-9200. Bringing a new, entry-level model to the Pronto family, the TSU-9200 and extenders are a single-room control system which fit perfectly into a home entertainment set up. The Pronto TSU-9200 can control all major brands of AV equipment and browse PC based music libraries, all in one handset that fits neatly in the palm of one hand. The stylish unit consists of laser-engraved hard keys which are backlit in white for easy viewing, a centrally mounted jog wheel/navigation key set, and a bright, full colour QVGA LCD screen. Installers and specialist retailers can purchase the Pronto TSU-9200 and accessories from AWE, and even those unfamiliar with the more advanced Pronto programming will easily customise the remote using the simple setup process. The unit can be set up in 15 minutes, although it can be further personalised for the home owner using the free software provided. This wizard driven editor performs the main installation with advanced options available to take things one step further. 'MyDatabase' can store often used components and codes and contains a complete database of channel icons available to make channel selection simple. There are four dedicated mode buttons to keep control straightforward: MEDIA gives browsing access to computer based media libraries (when used in conjunction with the PCX-9200 USB dongle); MORE takes the user to a specific function e.g. teletext; FAV. brings up a list of preferred TV channels and radio stations with icons displayed on the screen; and HOME shows action-based options like 'watch-TV', 'watch a DVD' or 'listen to PC'. AWE is also able to supply two optional extras to further enhance the TSU-9200. The RFX-9200 extends the range of the IR from the TSU-9200 using the latest digital RF technology giving an ultra reliable connection that allows control of IR equipment which is not in line-of-sight of the Pronto itself. The PCX-9200 USB dongle allow the TSU-9200 to communicate with a PC via 2-way communication enabling the user to browse their music library, view the information and cover art on the remotes' LCD screen, search for the music they require and select for playing.
