DMi Brings DENON DVD-2500BT Blu-ray to CI (3/7/2008)

DMi D&M Installation is launching the DENON DVD-2500BT Blu-ray transport with full HD bitstream output at CEDIA 08, bringing the sensational movie like HD picture quality and hi bitrate surround sound of Blu-ray discs to CI and commercial AV installations.

The DVD-2500BT transport provides unrivalled quality playback of Blu-ray, DVD and CD discs, transmitting full HD video and audio signals via HDMI 1.3 when connected to a HD format decoding AV receiver such as the DENON AVR-4803 or Marantz AV8003 AV processor/ pre-amp.

As well as transmitting HDMI 1.3 36-bit Deep Color, the DVD-2500BT outputs 1080/24p video signals, faithful reproducing the 'movie quality' 24fps frame rate of Blu-ray encoded content via a 1080/24p HD display or projector. Full support of BD-Video extended functions is provided, including sub video data viewed in PiP (for features such as director's commentary). The DVD-2500BT provides optimum reproduction of SD video signals for DVD playback with high grade I/P conversion and upscaling to 1080p HD specification, providing greatly improved picture quality and the transmission and switching of SD signals via HDMi.

Digital audio support via HDMI extends to Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio lossless surround formats by bitstream for Blu-ray, and the full spectrum of Dolby and DTS DVD surround sound formats.

A true CI product, RS232c connectivity and discrete IR commands enable comprehensive 2-way control for system integration. A rack mount kit will also be available for professional racking.

Legendary DENON build quality and engineering extends to a proprietary DENON drive mechanism, newly developed for playback of Blu-ray discs, protects the internal disc space from electro-magnetic interference and dust with increased shielding. The Suppress Vibration Hybrid loader is constructed with a combination of materials to ensure stable disc rotation and improved reading accuracy. The separation of video and power circuits into dedicated blocks on the chassis, suppresses interference between them and eliminating the possibility of signal degradation. The dual layered construction of the top cover and the three layered chassis bottom protects the circuitry from vibration.

The DVD-2500BT supports playback of a wealth of media containing various multimedia formats, including BD-ROM (BD Video), DVD-Video, DVD+R/RW, DVDR, DVD-RW (VR mode supported), CD, CD-R/RW, DivX (Ver. 6) video and MP3 and WMA audio formats, and JPEG image files written to DVD-R/RW and CD-R/RW discs. Playback of MP3, WMA and JPEG files on SD, SDHC, miniSD, and microSD cards is also supported; a required adaptor for miniSD, and microSD cards is available separately.
