Threshold announces Power Control and Measurement Module for manufacturers and OEMs (15/7/2008)

Threshold Corporation is pleased to announce the new Threshold Power Control Module that provides wireless ON/OFF control as well as sophisticated and precise energy measurement. Threshold's new Power Control Module is targeted at manufacturers and other OEM customers who want to "go green" by adding wireless control and energy monitoring to their products.

Measuring only 1 inch by 2 inches, Threshold's new Power Control Module is small enough to be built into many different electrical devices such as power outlets, light switches, appliances, consumer electronics products, etc. Wireless control allows a device to be turned on and off remotely, and wireless data transmission allows for continuous remote monitoring and measurement of power consumption.

The Threshold Power Control Module is available in both 110 and 220 volt versions. It can handle up to 15 amps at 125 volts and up to 10 amps at 250 volts. The Power Control Module is also extremely accurate and can measure from .1 to 2,500 watts with less than 0.1% Active Energy Error over a dynamic range of 1000:1.

Manufacturers now have an easy and inexpensive way to add energy measurement, remote monitoring, and wireless control to virtually any electrical device. Energy monitoring and device control can play an important role in developing green tech and environmentally friendly products.
