Pioneer Unveils KURO Full HD LCD Flat Screen TVs (25/7/2008)

Pioneer GB debuts in LCD TV technology by introducing three KURO-branded Full HD LCD TVs - the 32-inch KRL-32V, 37-inch KRL-37V and 46-inch KRL-46V. With these new LCD models Pioneer will carry on the legacy of its highly regarded KURO plasma TV series. The LCDs feature an upscale design and come with a high-contrast front filter, three HDMI ports and 100Hz processing to offer an unparalleled fast-moving picture performance.

Refreshing design

Whether on or off, KURO LCD TVs are a feast for the eyes. With an attractive brushed titanium look and sleek design the LCD models exude discreet class and harmonise perfectly with any contemporary interior decor. Thanks to their thin profile with a slim bezel they are the ideal screens to enjoy bigger pictures in smaller spaces. The KRL-32V and KRL-37V rest upon a matte removable black swivel stand that provides a 15-degree swivel, which makes it easy to move the screen for optimal viewing. Both models can be operated by an ingeniously hidden set of buttons on top, or using a classy aluminium preset remote control. The series integrate under-mounted speakers that blend into the design and output a clear sound.

Unmatched picture performance

The KURO LCD TV range is 'HD ready 1080p' and offers superior picture quality. Its 100Hz processing ensures smooth, flowing motion in action scenes and an overall immersive experience. The front filter enhances contrast, colour definition and sharpens the picture. An automatic backlight adjustment function results in enhanced black levels and deep, accurate colours, while an additional ambient light sensor optimises on screen images according to the brightness of the room. The series boasts an impressive viewing angle of 176 degrees from top to bottom and from left to right, allowing for advanced installation flexibility and colours that appear vivid and consistent virtually anywhere in the room.

Advanced connectivity

The KURO LCD range covers a multitude of modern-day connectivity options. The series features three HDMI inputs, with the KRL-46V sporting one on the side for straightforward connectivity. The HDMI inputs are compatible with 1080p/24 signals from Blu-ray players, giving access to the latest in high definition video. A PC input turns the TV into a computer monitor, allowing for working, gaming and more on a large screen. With the combined analogue/digital terrestrial tuner a host of TV programmes can be received in outstanding quality. The LCDs support KURO LINK to control the main functions of other Pioneer equipment with the TVs' remote control.

Pioneer's LCD TVs are available in three sizes: 32-inch, 37-inch and 46-inch. The 32-inch KRL-32V and 37-inch KRL-37V LCD TVs will be available in August. The 46-inch version will start shipping later this year.
