Carlo Gavazzi launches new smart-house controller fit for future expansion of the home automation market (12/8/2008)

Carlo Gavazzi has launched a new versatile controller to enhance its range of intelligent home automation solutions.

The BH8-CTRLX-230 smart-house controller is remarkably easy to configure with its new intuitive windows based software. Set up and configuration can be achieved rapidly for all property sizes, via the simple to use structured 3 step programming system.

The new versatile BH8-CTRLX-230 smart-house controller from Carlo Gavazzi is easy to configure, making it ideal for any home automation system.

The new smart-house controller from Carlo Gavazzi becomes the central hub of any home automation system, with the potential to have each floor zoned for an easier and more structured installation. Thanks to this and the 2 wire bus concept there is always the potential to expand the system in the future by adding further components to the existing bus cable. Programming is achieved using pre-defined functions contained within the smart-house configurator software which runs on the Windows XP or Vista(R) platform. Connection to the controller can be locally by USB 2.0 or remotely by Ethernet. RS232 & Ethernet connections are available to connect to external devices like touch screens, or access to the controllers imminent web server function.

To integrate smart-house home automation with AV products the new smart-house controller utilises Wifi technology to communicate with the stylish Philips Pronto TSU9600 universal remote control. The TSU9600 can be used with all infra-red devices, and combines the features of all other remote controls to give an advanced all-in-one control centre for systems including audio, visual, HVAC and lighting. One touch button functions can easily be programmed, for example: pushing the 'watch TV' button will turn on the TV, dim the lights and close the blinds. The ergonomic design allows for single handed operation with an easy-to-use backlit colour LCD touchscreen and a rotary cursor for fast menu navigation.
