FUZE Media Systems Launches ‘FuzeOne,’ Second Generation Whole-Home Media System (21/8/2008)

CEDIA US Expo 2008

Starting at $5995, FuzeOne Enables easy DVD Storage and Wireless Control Designed for the Retrofit Market

FUZE Media Systems, makers of the industry’s most complete whole-home media system, today introduced FuzeOne, a whole-home media system designed for the retrofit market. To date, the company has achieved notoriety for its flagship solution, a reliable, easy-to-use, dealer-installable whole-home media system that delivers live & recorded TV, movies, music, photos, and more. FuzeOne revolutionizes the whole-home media concept by drastically increasing simplicity of installation while maintaining the majority of the FUZE Media System’s core functionality.

FuzeOne offers two features never before included on a FUZE Media System. The first is the FuzeOne disc importer, which allows users to insert a DVD into any PC in the home and store it on the hard drive with a single button click. The second is the enabling of PC control, which allows users to use any PC throughout the home to control the system (in addition to using the system’s standard remote control at any TV). These features were included to improve the movie-viewing experience and simplify options for whole-home control.

Starting at $5995, FuzeOne comes standard with a home theater video zone and five audio zones but can be easily configured for up to six video and nine audio zones. Media content can be shared throughout the home, enabling recorded HDTV, videos, movies, music, and pictures to be enjoyed in any room of the home with the same easy-to-use FUZE interface. With an optional HD Cable Card for HDTV and Blu-Ray DVD player for home theater playback, FuzeOne elevates expectations for media lovers.

Bob Silver, VP of Sales & Marketing at FUZE, touted the system as “the first-ever locked-down whole-home media system designed for the retrofit market.” He continued, “FuzeOne is revolutionary—not just because of its technical execution, but also because of the standard features that it offers. It has the same whole-home media functionality expected of a FUZE system, but at a dramatically lower price point. And, we’ve added a disc importer to store DVDs on the hard drive, whole-home PC control, and our revolutionary PowerLine Easy Control music control solutions. For these reasons, we are confident that FuzeOne will generate considerable excitement in our channel.”

FuzeOne ships standard with all necessary hardware and software for a home theater video zone and five audio zones, with up to six video and nine audio zones available as options. The system’s server will come standard with 750GB RAID storage with larger storage options available. The solution is available today, starting at $5995.
