The Multi-Room Company Introduces Flying Mole's Environmentally-Friendly Cascade Modular Digital Amplification Systems (26/8/2008)

Cheltenham based distributor, The Multi-Room Company, have today announced the introduction of the Flying Mole Cascade modular digital amplification products.

Cascade

This is a modular rack mounted amplification system, perfect for use in big installs with a cupboard-hidden equipment rack. Cascade's mount is a standard 3U height and comes with a master power switch. Into this chassis can be inserted and hot swapped (i.e. whilst turned on) up to 8 stereo amplifier modules. This gives up to 16 channels of amplification at 160 watts per channel. Full power output is available from each module, whether 1 or 8 are inserted into the chassis (i.e. no power limiting takes place).

The amplifier modules are available with either RCA phono sockets of balanced XLR connectors. Each module has separate gain controls for each channel, making fine tuning of the system levels possible.

As with all Flying Mole products, they are extremely efficient in terms of power consumption and heat output, making them the perfect choice for the environmentally informed consumer. Total power conversion efficiency is 85% compared to around 30% for conventional analogue amplifiers, or put another way they consume around 1/6 the power of an analogue amp. This means they are compact and run cool, making cupboard rack mounting much easier (i.e. fans not needed) and last longer as the vital components are never exposed to extreme temperature fluctuations. Suggested retail prices: DPA-M1600 Master Chassis £730 (inc VAT) PM-164d HT Power Amplifiers £730 (inc VAT)
