Four weeks until CEDIA Business and Technology Forum (11/9/2008)

CEDIA's Business and Technology Forum, incorporating the CEDIA Region 1 AGM, is just four weeks away. This year's event, taking place on October 9th and 10th at the Marriott Tudor Park Hotel in Bearsted, Kent, has been significantly re-structured to give maximum benefit to members and focus on key areas of the industry. CEDIA is introducing the first of a series of Technology Forums at the event. The forum has been set up to provide a suitable opportunity to share technical information and consumer trends between members of CEDIA Region 1.

The Technology Forum will take place on the first day with topics up for discussion including 'High Definition Video Distribution', 'Integrating Gaming into Family Media Rooms' and 'Energy Monitoring Solutions'. At the core of CEDIA's ideals is the vision that as an Association, sharing ideas and knowledge is the best way to help everyone to build a more profitable future.

Another 'first' will be a new members' lunch on day one, specifically aimed at those companies that have joined the Association over the past 12 months. The lunch will give these businesses the chance to meet staff and board members and find out more about working with the Association.

On Thursday evening (9th) CEDIA will host the AGM to which all members are invited, items on the agenda will include a chairman's report, a financial and marketing review including the CEDIA Awards, a full round up on this year's Expo, as well as the latest on CEDIA's education. Members attending the AGM will also have the opportunity to ask questions and raise matters of interest.

Day two will include business presentations from leading consultants on 'Terms and Conditions', 'Health and Safety Policy' and 'Employment Contracts', with documentation provided to take away after the sessions. In yet another new initiative, day two will also see CEDIA Trade Suppliers taking a more active role in the event through the provision of dedicated Trade Supplier Training sessions.

Prices for the event are as follows: for the whole Business and Technology Forum and overnight accommodation at the Marriott, the cost is £175+VAT per member. Training without accommodation is £75+VAT. Alternatively, the cost for taking part in just the Technology Forum is £25+VAT.
