Crestron Introduces New DIN-Rail Lighting and Control Modules (15/9/2008)

CEDIA US Expo 2008

Crestron announces its new line of DIN-Rail lighting and control modules at CEDIA booth #301/SR-1. DIN-Rail is a compact control system and the most popular installation standard worldwide. The DIN-Rail form factor is highly efficient, requiring only a fraction of the space of a traditional equipment rack. DIN-Rail modules are perfect for small spaces that cannot accommodate a full-size rack or smaller systems that do not need a full rack such as a condo or home theater system. DIN-Rail cabinets hang on a wall or in a closet, providing a clean, professional installation.

DIN Rail systems are custom configurable and extremely easy to install. Modules simply snap onto the DIN-Rail in the cabinet - no tools are required. DIN-Rail modules are accessible from the front of the enclosure and connections are easy using removable terminal connectors. Crestron is introducing 10 new modules at CEDIA, including a power supply, 2-Series controller, distribution block, audio switcher and more. Standard DIN-Rail cabinets are available from a number of third party vendors and in several sizes.

New Crestron DIN-Rail Modules:

DIN-AP2 a 2-series control system with a PAC2M (66 MIPS processor)

DIN-1DIMU4 offers four channels of "universal" dimming from one feed with built-in OCP; a master air-gap relay with local front control of each dimming leg - supports incandescent, MLV, Electronic Low Voltage, 2-wire fluorescent dimming, NCC, and non-dim switching

DIN-4DIMFLV4 accommodates four channels of 4-wire 0-10 volt fluorescent dimming, and each load handles up to 30 dimmable ballasts. It also supports switching up to 5 amps or 1/2 HP motors. Local front control of each dimming leg and local override input for emergency backup is included

DIN-8SW8 offers eight channels of switching. Each channel supports up to 10 amps incandescent, 5 amps of fluorescent or 1/2 HP motors, with local front control of each switching leg and local override input for emergency backup. It supports switching for fluorescent, Incandescent, MLV, ELV,NCC, and motors

DIN-2MC2 supports two channels of 3-wire bi-directional motor control. Includes built-in logic for up/down open/close, local front control of each motor, local override input for emergency backup, and support of 3-wire motor switching for devices including shade and drapes, lifts, screens, and skylights

DIN-AO8 accommodates eight channels of analog output, with local front control of each output and local override input for emergency backup. It supports third party lighting and heating /cooling systems

DIN-IO8 has eight Versiports, digital or analog inputs, local front status of each I/O, and local override input for emergency backup. It supports contact closures, motion sensors, occupancy sensors, partition sensors, photo cells, temperature sensors, water level meters, and volume control potentiometers

DIN-PWS50 is a 50 Watt Cresnet power supply, to power DIN-AP2 and other Cresnet devices

DIN-BLOCK is a Cresnet block with 12 Cresnet connectors and Cresnet power distribution

DIN-HUB is a Cresnet HUB with three segments, and supports 32 Cresnet devices per segment. Each segment can be powered from the Cresnet or from an external power supply, and each segment has an LED power indicator light.
