Niles Audio Introduces New IM-NET Module Offering Access and Control of Digital Music Libraries and Online Music Subscription Services (26/9/2008)

Niles Audio Corporation, The First Name in Custom Installation(r), has announced the introduction of the IM-NET Network Audio Integration Module, a source integration card which allows access and simplified control of networked PC and Mac-based digital music files and online music subscription services. In addition, IM-NET is Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA)-compliant so it automatically configures and plays digital content found on networked DLNA-compliant devices, including NAS drives. Designed specifically for the IntelliControl(r) ICS whole-house entertainment system, IM-NET installs quickly via the GXR2 six-source, six-zone modular multi-zone receiver's card cage design. Attesting to its innovative design, IM-NET has been named one of three finalists for this year's Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) Manufacturer's Excellence "Best New Technology" Award.

IM-NET is the latest addition to the growing family of source integration modules that can be utilized with the GXR2 multizone receiver. IM-NET provides IntelliControl ICS users complete access to digital music files, including Digital Rights Managed (DRM) content, found on pre-selected networked PCs and Macs. Additionally, IM-NET simplifies control of online digital music libraries and media content in a way that any family member can enjoy. Its menu-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) delivers the detailed information and effortless control via IntelliControl ICS, keypads, touchscreens and wireless remote controls such as the new iRemoteTS. Featuring the latest technology found in today's professional recording equipment, IM-NET utilizes crystal-controlled precision timing, an audiophile-quality low-ripple Digital-to-Audio Converter (DAC), and 32-bit processing to deliver exceptional levels of sound reproduction that can surpass CD quality sound.
