Exceptional Innovation previews Life|ware Version 2.0.4 with additional customisation, more compatible devices and enhanced Visual Project configuration tool (16/10/2008)

Latest version of award-winning automation software ushers in additional customization, more compatible devices and enhances Life|ware Visual Project configuration tool.

Exceptional Innovation, makers of Life|wareTM, announces a preview of Life|ware v.2.0.4, at CEDIA EXPO 2008 in Denver. With this release, dealers will be able to offer more customization to their clients than ever before - including custom, animated icons for devices that provide feedback, and personal pop-up messages, along with more than 40 new devices certified as Life|ware ConnectedTM.

"We built Life|ware as a standard platform that would give dealers more choices," said Eric Eichensehr, Life|ware's chief technology officer. "With this release, we'll have more than 250 devices and subsystems that dealers can offer their customers."

New Connected Partners certified in version 2.0.4 will include Kaleidescape, Proficient, Leviton, and Iport. The application has been enhanced to support Audio Navigation by Touch, providing audio screens that will support an A-Z view onscreen for faster gallery searches. The new Thermostat mode now has a slider bar for adjusting temperature; with fun little touches like, the "cool" and "heat" slider.

In addition, Life|ware adds video switching, supporting products from industry leaders including Russound, Extron, Gefen and Key Digital which are certified in this release. Version 2.0.4 also rolls out Life|ware's first video and audio conferencing solution.

Dealers will also appreciate a number of enhancements to Life|ware's award winning configuration tool, Life|ware Visual Project, which bring drag-and-drop simplicity to the configuration process. Device status indicators, a search feature and simplified device grouping are some of the enhancements that speed up the dealer's configuration process. Life|ware Visual Project has significantly improved the process for creating scripts for customer's Life|scenes. Dealers can now add Xbox Media Center events to scripts, use predefined templates to create new scripts quickly, and test scripts line-by-line within the configuration environment itself.

"Our dealers were thrilled when we first released Life|ware Visual Project," said Eichensehr. "Now we've incorporated a lot of shortcuts and efficiencies that the dealers recommended to us. Now configuration can happen even faster than before."
