WireWorld releases DisplayPort cable (20/10/2008) WireWorld has adopted the new DisplayPort technology for the consumer market. WireWorld is the first specialist cable manufacturer to release a performance DisplayPort cable. The new DisplayPort technology will be used, amongst other applications, for connecting the new generation of Pioneer's plasma screens to their new media box. The WireWorld DisplayPort cable will be initially offered in 5m and 10m lengths. Both the models will be capable of transmitting data rates of 10.2Gbps. The WireWorld DisplayPort cable will shortly be released to retailers and installers throughout the UK.
