WeatherHawk and AccuWater partner to offer home irrigation control technology (29/10/2008)

CEDIA US Expo 2008

WeatherHawk will show the WeatherHawk Series 500 home automation weather station, which communicates with the AccuWater Intelligent Irrigation Controller family to provide the optimum in GREEN home irrigation control technology.

WeatherHawk and AccuWater have partnered with several home automation system manufacturers, including industry leaders AMX and Crestron to provide ET based irrigation control technology to high end homes and business parks.

AccuWater developed their family of Intelligent Irrigation Controllers that use evapotranspiration (ET) algorithms to manage home and commercial irrigation systems. The system saves a time and money, while providing increased control over landscaping water use. The AccuWater system communicates over an "always on" internet connection and uses an IP based, locally mounted, WeatherHawk weather station for measurement of realtime microclimate conditions. After its initial set-up, weather conditions measured at the site will automatically adjust the delivery of water to the turf and landscaping. ET based irrigation control has been used for municipal and commercial landscaping for many years with water savings of 30-50% as compared to older timer based systems (local conditions and owner set-up determine ultimate water savings).

The WeatherHawk family of rugged, industrial grade yet aesthetically compliant weather stations have been the home automation industry standard since 2003, and they are available in both directly connected and wireless versions. WeatherHawk also offers a complete range of hardware options that enable a home automation installer to easily adapt the WeatherHawk to virtually any site, data or input power requirement. WeatherHawk is manufactured in the United States, and supported worldwide through a combination of affiliated companies and independent dealers.
