Optimum launches new range of AV cabinets with a walnut wood finish (26/11/2008)

Optimum International is looking to crack the Christmas market with the launch of a new range of AV cabinets with a walnut wood finish.

Cassini is the latest addition to Optimum's innovative AV furniture collection by US design studio BDI. This elegant cabinet features a real wood top and sides in a rich walnut finish, with AV component storage concealed behind recessed grey tinted glass.

Cassini is designed as a stylish mount for LCD and plasma screens, or to be positioned beneath a wall-mounted flat panel TV. Available in two model sizes each with soft close safety glass doors, which are infra-red remote control friendly.

Design features include built-in ventilation to keep AV components cool, sliding back panels for easy equipment access and integrated cable management. Both Cassini models feature adjustable component shelves and hidden castors for ease of movement.

Optimum's Managing Director John Ogden says: "Cassini's low, horizontal design with contrasting tinted glass and real walnut wood finish offers a stylish contemporary look. As a piece of high performance AV furniture it features all the hallmarks of the BDI by Optimum range - innovation, design and function."

Cassini model 8627 (H480mm x W1690mm x D590mm) is designed for flat panel screen sizes up to 62 inches. This low enclosed AV cabinet has three compartments, each with two component shelves including one that can be adjusted.

Cassini 8627 features top and sides with a walnut wood finish and three grey tinted toughened safety glass doors. The Cassini 8627 model has an RRP of £1,299.

The larger Cassini 8629 model (H550mm x W1840mm x D590mm) is designed for flat panel TV screens up to 70 inches. It features a media storage drawer and a dedicated speaker compartment in the centre, with two side compartments for AV components. Each side compartment contains two shelves (one is adjustable).

Cassini 8629 features top and sides with a walnut wood finish. The storage drawer front and two compartment doors are made from grey tinted toughened safety glass. The Cassini 8629 model has an RRP of £1,499.
