Bryant Broadcast introduces new range of connectivity and signal distribution solutions (30/12/2008)

Stand 1I99, Integrated Systems Europe 2009

Bryant Broadcast introduces a brand new range of connectivity and signal distribution solutions for the professional systems integrator, where ease and quality of installation are essential requirements.

Green-Box Technology are a leading AV and multimedia signal distribution manufacturer who provide extremely versatile, AV connectivity hardware solutions. The range includes VGA, DVI and HDMI splitters, expanders, distance extenders and switches.

Ideal for use by professional AV installers and systems integrators working with video (and combined audio) distribution projects across all market sectors such as retail, digital signage, education, corporate and leisure systems.

The range comprises analogue and/or digital transmitters, receivers and transceivers for use with Cat5e/6 UTP or FTP cable systems. For those of you who don't understand the difference (like us before we asked!), transmitters and receivers do what it says on the box: transceivers not only supply a local output, but also retransmit the signal to the next unit.

The Green-Box product range uses various cable types to distribute AV signals. Please note that the type and quality of cable can have a dramatic effect on the resultant system performance.

Where an AV system is extended via Cat5e/6 cable, Bryant recommends the use of a suitable Low Skew cable. Skew is a measurement (normally in nanoseconds) of the time delay between the first and last signal arrival along the different twisted pairs of the Cat-5e/6 cable. If the time difference is too large, image quality can be badly affected. Low Skew in video terms is generally accepted as cable with Skew rates lower than 15nS per 100m.

High display resolutions and video refresh rates require higher bandwidths and data rates and also dictate the use of superior infrastructure cabling.

Belden Brilliance® VideoTwist™ 7987R Nano-Skew cables are ideally suited for high end installations, digital signage, etc.
