Primare launches new audio/video designs (31/12/2008) Stand 11C69, Integrated Systems Europe 2009 Stand 11C69 sees the European debut of chic one-box system and greener, upgradable A/V separates Luxury home entertainment systems designer Primare is introducing three new products at ISE in 2009. The iconic Scandinavian brand is expanding its range with a DVD oriented single-box entertainment system solution, the DVDI10, and two new specialised and upgradable home theatre products, the SP32 pre-amp/processor and a five channel integrated processor/amplifier, the SPA22. In a radical shift from the norm and acknowledging the growing importance of global conservation, the innovative SP32 and SPA22 are equipped with am open design topology, which offers an easy upgrade path for audio, video and communications via proprietary Primare modules. Addressing demands for compact style and high performance, the DVDI10 provides superb 2.1 channel audio together with video in the highest definition (1080p); DAB/FM or FM/AM radio, state-of-the-art Class D power amplification generating 75W/channel, and iPod control -all in a single stylish design. It supports DVD, CD, MP3 and CD-ROM and offers generous analogue and digital connectivity, which includes HDMI with up-scaling to 1080p. Control over iPod is easy via the remote control and front panel display. The DVDI10 also features RS232 control capability, data and IR inputs and is available in matte silver or black finishes. The new SP32 pre-amp/processor is a fully balanced design in the highest Primare tradition, delivering elite performance and ease of use enhanced by cool Scandinavian aesthetics. It’s also a comprehensively specified AV controller, complete with the full gamut of Dolby® and dts® multi-channel audio formats, and supporting decoded multi-channel PCM audio from Full HD sources through no fewer than three switchable HDMI1.3 A/V inputs. Other features include a dedicated 7.1 channel input, balanced inputs/outputs, fully configurable format independent bass management, discrete IR and full RS232 operation, programmable triggers, and upgradable architecture. Available in black or silver. The new SPA22 combines the advanced control flexibility and upgradable topology of the SP32 with five discrete channels of amplification rated at 120W each. The amplifiers are of a new type of purified Class D/switch-mode design, dubbed UFPD (Ultra Fast Power Device), which delivers a natural dynamic quality of sound across the entire audible spectrum while retaining an amazing energy-saving efficiency. In the UFPD design, Primare has found a way to keep the Class D design stable above 1kHz, suppressing distortion while producing a wide, naturally rhythmic response, which is consistent regardless of load.
