DMi is offering a range of Blu-ray playback options and price points with the arrival of three new Blu-ray / DVD players, being shown at ISE for the first time. The Marantz BD8002 reference high def Blu-ray / DVD player provides the highest possible playback quality from Blu-ray and standard definition DVD, with a 12-bit/297MHz video processor providing image quality as never before. HDMI 1.3 provides full, uncompressed HD bitstream transfer and discrete 7.1 audio outputs are included. The very latest video upscaling technology provides close to HD picture performance from standard DVD. 2-way RS232 control is a unique CI feature.

The Denon-1800BD and Marantz BD7003 extend the reach of affordable 'universal players' to the heights of Blu-ray; both include high end features such as true film-like 24 frame output, and HDMI 1.3 connectivity for outputting HD video and PCM, Dolby True HD and DTS-HD multi-channel audio bitstreams to HDMI equipped AV receivers. Both include upscaling of SD DVD signals to 1080p output and support a wealth of AV media formats.

The Marantz AV8003 'ultimate AV processor' offers the latest advances in HD video and high bit rate audio technologies (including HDMI 1.3 connectivity and Blu-Ray decoding), network and streaming media capabilities and multiroom control. The MM8003 8-channel power amplifier for pure audiophile sonic performance and build quality: at up to 170w per channel the MM8003 offers an unrivalled power output and compact form advantage.

The Marantz RC9001 touch-screen universal remote control handset features the latest firmware upgrade providing the RC9001 with best in class CI functionality, adding support for a-synchronous RS 232 feedback programming and full 2-way programming for control and feedback of IP controlled devices such as the Escient Vision platform.

Being shown at ISE for the first time, the DENON CI series comprises the POA-3012CI 12 channel multi-zone power amplifier, the TU-604CI six source modular multi tuner, and the DVP-602CI HDMI 6-in / 2-out video processor/ switcher. All feature Ethernet connectivity and IP network control.

DMi takes in-home entertainment to the next level with Escient Vision(tm), a 'whole-home media entertainment solution'. Discrete hard drive storage of DVDs, CDs and digital photo files, combines with network distribution, control and on demand playback of movies, music and photos anywhere in the home. Fast and efficient mass media storage and digital network management, enables thousands of movies and songs to be searched by title, artist or genre - on-screen, online, or from touch panels and remote handsets - without ever touching a disc. And all of this at a competitive price point, never seen before for a system of this type.

Vision builds on Escient's unrivalled reputation for networked media storage and control products, providing for secure RAID drive storage of up to 2400 movies, full HD video and sound, Gigabit Ethernet networking and control, and system scalability - from single standalone server players to network systems covering up to 10 locations. Vision can also fully interface with iPod docks, Macs and PCs to extend system control to streaming media and files stored on these devices.

The latest Vision Update V1.1 software release offers improved user interface responsiveness, stability and video quality. Key enhancements of the software upgrade include complete 2-way external control capabilities for Vision Movies, Music, Rhapsody, Photos and the front-panel DVD / CD drive. A brand new Vision module for Crestron support including multi-resolution touch panel files and multi-unit control programming is available on the Escient web site for use with the new 2-way control capabilities available in the Vision Update V1.1 software release.
