Niko shows latest touchscreen control panel (6/2/2009) Integrated Systems Europe 2009 Niko, the Belgian market-leading control company, is demonstrating its latest touchscreen control panel and matching system feedback module. This user-friendly Touchscreen acts as the central control panel integrating all the controls in a home. The use of a Touchscreen makes control of the installation extremely simple since all the buttons on the screen can be used as if they were ordinary switches. For increased user confidence, every control function performed on the screen is confirmed by a short beep and programming to customise the remote functions is easily achieved using the supplied PC software. The Niko Touchscreen 7inch screen, which has a 16:9 image and a resolution of 800x480 pixels, the is stylish and attractive, being finished in HI-MACS, a derivative of the well-known Corian, a scratch-resistant material popular as a high-quality alternative to granite for kitchen worktops. The touch-screen includes backlighting for ease of use; and an energy saving facility - lighting that fades down after a set period of time without use. The matching 05-207 feedback module is an interface between the bus of the Nikobus home automation system and the Touchscreen (and, or in addition to, Nikobus bus push-buttons). This new module provides a clear overview of the status of the full system on the Touchscreen or, if preferred, through the indicators on the push-buttons used within the Nikobus network. In this way, it keeps the user informed on the status of the system - even showing whether, for example, the lights in the bathroom are still on, or if the window in a meeting room has been left open. This new feedback module is easily programmed using the Nikobus PC software provided and up to five feedback modules and five touch-screens can be used in any installation for complete flexibility. The Niko Touchscreen is the latest addition to the product ranges available from Niko, which continues to develop its home automation offerings to provide a comprehensive range of cost effective and easily integrated solutions for the 21st century home and office environment.
