Da-Lite Projection Screens Awarded ISO 14001 and Green Guard Certification (20/2/2009)

Da-Lite, the leading manufacturer of projection screens whose products are distributed in the UK by Comm-Tec, has been awarded the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 14001 : 2004 certification for Environmental Management Systems (EMS).

The ISO 14001 standard and management tool has enabled Da-Lite to identify and control the environmental impact of its activities and products. Also to implement a systematic approach to setting environmental objectives and targets and then to demonstrate that they have been achieved.

Da-Lite is the first manufacturer of projection screens, in the world, to be awarded ISO 14001 accreditation. In addition, the Company has also received Green Guard certification and participates in the United States Green Building Council accreditation programme.

Green Guard is an environmental institute certificate for certified products with low emissions. This demonstrates that the projection screens produced by Da-Lite are suitable for use in sensitive environments such as schools, healthcare applications etc. The Green Guard requirement monitors chemical emission standards as they apply to air quality. In particular, limiting the loss of particles from the screen fabric that could cause low air quality and could contribute to asthma problems. Therefore, it is wise to use Da-Lite screens in the above applications.
