CEDIA announces changes for UK Expo 2009 education programme (25/2/2009)

CEDIA (the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) is re-shaping the CEDIA Expo 2009 education programme to ensure the event provides even greater benefits to visitors and exhibitors.

Following a detailed review of the Expo 2008 education curriculum alongside survey feedback provided to the Association by delegates, visitors and exhibitors and continuing, year-on-year expansion of the CEDIA training schedule outside of Expo, CEDIA is introducing a number of significant changes for 2009.

The CEDIA 2009 education programme will continue to run for four days from 22nd-25th June inclusive. It will comprise a blend of one day workshops focused on specific industry issues, such as, HDMI distribution, alongside shorter sessions provided in a tighter 4 hour time slot from 10 AM until 2 PM on each of the show days 23rd-25th June. Programme content will be rationalised according to delegate demand, relevance and quality assessments.

The Keynote Speaker element of the programme which saw representatives from Apple, the BBC, BIDA and other influential organisations delivering presentations in the show floor theatre for the first time will be extended. CEDIA is also increasing opportunities for exhibitors to provide Trade Supplier training sessions which are free to all visitors. These modifications will result in a more focused programme, so education delegates can achieve the best possible return for their education investment whilst balancing their time more easily between training and the show floor.

CEDIA Expo 2009 will take place at ExCeL London from 22nd to 25th June 2009 (training: 22nd to 25th June; exhibition: 23rd to 25th June). It remains the only annual event in the UK for the trade dedicated to the design, installation and integration of home electronic systems.

“In line with the introduction of CEDIA Certification, the last eighteen months has seen an incredible growth in demand for year-round CEDIA Education” says Operations Director, Matt Nimmons. “Our new Training and Curriculum Guide details the extended range of CEDIA training opportunities now available to the industry which offer greater choice and flexibility to delegates than ever before.”

“The CEDIA Expo education programme is a key, though no longer an exclusive, component in this expanded schedule. A tighter Expo education programme will focus on the best, most valuable CEDIA courses, increase accessibility to popular, non-CEDIA led seminars and present greater opportunities for delegates to see the many innovations launched at the show and network with exhibitors”.

The full CEDIA Expo seminar programme will be launched in April 2009, with detailed information on all courses available in a dedicated Seminar Guide and on the CEDIA Expo website.
