With screen sizes ranging from 19 to 54 inches, the new line-up will also meet the needs of a wide range of consumers. In addition, VIERA will incorporate its unique VIERA CAST(r)(tm)service for the first time in Europe when it introduces the Z1 series, the V10 series and the G15 series. Panasonic increases its freesat offering within this line-up of Viera TVs Building on the success of its award winning series of freesat models, Panasonic has also increased its freesat offering within this line-up of Viera TVs, ranging 14 models in screen sizes from 32 right up to 54 inches. Panasonic's full HDTVs with freesat built-in are a convenient and high quality way to view over 140 digital TV and radio channels including brilliant HD programmes from the BBC and ITV, all for free.* Freesat offers subscription free HD services, gives you super fast digital text, as well as digital subtitles and audio description and as the freesat service is satellite based, further capacity for the expansion of HD services can be assured. Neo PDP In 2008, Panasonic announced the development of next-generation plasma display panels (PDPs) called NeoPDP technology which used ground-breaking technologies that offered better picture quality, higher efficiency and thinner dimensions than its predecessors. After thoroughly reviewing its existing IC technology and panel structures, Panasonic developed new phosphors and cell design technology for improved discharge and new circuit and drive technology to significantly reduce power loss. These new technologies will be introduced for the first time in its flagship Z1 series, V10 series, G15 and G10 series. Panasonic 600Hz Sub-Field Drive with Intelligent Frame Creation Pro As a result, Panasonic has improved motion image performance, contrast and colour reproduction in its plasma displays to achieve a level of picture quality that is simply unprecedented. To improve motion images, the Z1 series, V10 series, G15 and G10 series adopt Panasonic's 600Hz Sub-field Drive Intelligent Frame Creation Pro, which helps achieve 1080 line motion picture resolution *1. Even fast-moving objects are clear and sharp. Users enjoy a truly stunning viewing experience, especially with ultra-dynamic action and sports scenes such as motor car racing events and car chases. The Z1 series, V10 series, G15 and G10 series also deliver a remarkable dynamic contrast of over 2,000,000:1 thanks to the increased brightness achieved by NeoPDP technology and refinements to Panasonic's Real Black Drive System (a pre-discharge system). With these enhancements, the new models provide the kind of "infinite black" colour that pulls viewers right into the picture. VIERA Cast The Z1 series, V10 series and G15 series will feature VIERA CAST *2, making them the first models in Europe to offer this service. With VIERA CAST, viewers can access certain Internet content by simply clicking a button while sitting in their living room. For example, users can view such familiar content as Eurosport, YouTube and Picasa directly on their VIERA TV. Viewers can access other information too, such as news, weather forecasts and stock market information. DLNA connection is also possible with these three series. Digital data *3 such as motion images and still images saved onto a PC can be played on VIERA through a home network. For example, DivX content on a PC in the den can be viewed on a VIERA in the living room. VIERA Link Panasonic has also further enhanced its innovative VIERA Link in all its models, which lets you use the VIERA remote control to operate devices connected to a VIERA TV via an HDMI cable. LUMIX digital cameras and the world's first portable Blu-ray Disc(tm) player have now joined the list of devices with VIERA Link compatibility. This means that if you connect a LUMIX camera to your VIERA TV, you can use the VIERA remote to control playback of the still or motion images *4 stored on the camera. VIERA Link is environment-friendly too. It helps save energy by automatically powering-down connected devices, switching them to Intelligent Auto Stand-by or Stand-by Power Save mode. The new VIERA models reflect Panasonic's focus on improving operating ease and entertainment while giving full consideration to the environment. VIERA Image Viewer The VIERA Image Viewer has been added to all 2009 models. By simply inserting an SD card into the slot on VIERA, users can view motion and still images recorded in different formats with a LUMIX camera or compatible camcorder. For more viewer impact and entertainment fun, users can add background music and image effects to their still-image slideshows. 100,000-hour long-life plasma display panels With its lead-free and 100,000-hour long-life plasma display panels, Panasonic continues to create products that stand out for environmental performance. All series in this year's line-up are environment-friendly, and incorporate environment-friendly functions. Eco mode, for example, reduces power consumption by automatically adjusting screen luminance according to room brightness and other viewing conditions. "Panasonic's superior quality, connectivity and service continues to distinguish the VIERA line," said Fabien Roth, Senior Marketing Manager, Panasonic TV Group. "We will introduce our own next-generation plasma display panels (PDPs) in four series including our flagship Z1 Series resulting in brighter panels, deeper blacks and superior moving picture resolution. We will also introduce our VIERA CAST service for the first time and continue to improve the functionality of VIERA Link. With all the new expanded features and screens sizes in our new VIERA line-up, we will be providing the ultimate viewing experience." *1 Based on APDC measurement method. *2 ?VIERA CAST home screen is subject to change without notice. *3 JPEG/DivX/MPEG2 format *4 DMC-TZ7 and DMC-FT1
