Sharp introduces the AQUOS DH77 range of Full-HD LCD TVs with energy saving features (24/3/2009) The new AQUOS DH77 series is the latest addition to Sharp's range of Full-HD LCD TVs with 100-hertz technology, and represents the top end in Sharp's AQUOS LCD portfolio. Available in 32", 42", 46" and 52" sizes, the DH77 TVs are the first to feature a green eco-button on the remote control that enables viewers to reduce the energy consumption of the TV. Tommaso Monetto, product manager for LCD TV at Sharp UK, said "Sharp has always been proud of its green credentials, from our factories to our award winning TVs - We were the first flat-screen TV manufacturer to be awarded the Euro Flower environmental commendation from the EU European Commission. The DH77 has taken this eco-awareness one step further by making it easier for our customers to make the green choice." Eco friendly features A first to the TV industry, the eco-control button on the remote allows viewers to directly operate the Energy Save Mode without having to navigate the menus. This energy saving function decreases power consumption while the TV is being watched, meaning the viewer won't be counting the cost of wasted energy. The Optical Picture Control (OPC) technology further reduces power consumption by automatically adjusting the backlight brightness according to the ambient lighting conditions of the room, saving the viewer energy automatically. The DH77 series has been awarded the EU Eco Label, supporting its credentials as one of the most environmentally friendly LCD TVs on the market. Sophisticated design The DH77 series is beautifully designed with a new contemporary 'AQUOS Blue' finish and modern 'Mona-Lisa-Smile' curved design. The super-slim frame and smooth, rounded edges make the DH77 series the ultimate in uber-chic design and the definitive LCD style statement. High visual quality With cutting-edge technology to complement its stylish appearance, the LCD TVs in the DH77 range come with a 50,000:1 contrast ratio and 'Natural Clear Panel,' meaning images are crystal clear and reproduced to the highest quality. Incorporating new 100Hz picture enhancement technology with 1080p Full-HD, the DH77 series brings images to life, mimicking cinematic quality. Well connected Three HDMI inputs means the DH77 series can be used with Blu-ray players, games consoles and sound systems. In addition there is a USB terminal for storage devices that allows you to play music (MP3 files) or view your party snaps (JPEG files) on screen, making it more than just a TV. With an AQUOS Link option and one remote control to operate all functions a TV has never been so easy to use. Pricing and availability The DH77 is available now in 32", 37", 42" and 46" screen sizes, with the 52" screen to follow shortly.
